What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Analytics
We do not use Google analytics. We analyse site visits using software from Matomo. We host this software ourselves and your data is not shared with any third parties.
Your IP address and details of the operating system, web browser, timezone and geographical location relating to your visit may be stored, however this data is completely anonymous.
You can configure your web browser for “do not track” for this site, and our analytics software will respect this setting.
Who we share your data with
We do not share any of your data with anyone else, however we use MailChimp to manage our mailing lists, so if you sign up for updates then your email address (and optionally your first name) will be stored on Mailchimp’s servers. Mailchimp staff have no access to your details, however you may also wish to read Mailchimp’s privacy policy.
How long we retain your data
For users that sign up on our website (if any), we will store your email address and (if provided) your first name. We will retain this information in order to send you updates about our project.
What rights you have over your data
If you signed up on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
We do not send your data to any external organisation or body.
